Correction: There are no dumb classes, only dumb players.
Which is true, but some classes attract dumb players more than others.
And I’m under the impression the two classes which draw dumb players to them like flies to honey are the Sniper and the Engy.
I have witnessed idiocy in every form and shape, but I really think that I have seen it carried out with sniper rifles and wrenches far more often than with any other class.
Probably fantasies of almightiness in form of headshots and sentry-awesomeness. Huge killscores with little personal involvement.
And the embarrassing results of their inevitable failure: The sniper often starts ranting and the engineer usually switches secretly to another class, tail between his legs (not rarely leaving his team without a sentry and a dispenser).
Sigh, can’t we have an intelligence test when choosing those classes. One round Dr. Kawashima? On failure the player have to play another class? Like Heavy? Surely even dumb players can play Heavy with at least a little effect ...
PS: I apologize to the good and smart snipers and engineers for this generalization. But it’s always tough to belong to a minority

I’m deeply offended that you didn’t mention the spy =)
I think a lot of the time the fantasies of dumb players involve that one killer backstab on the medic with 100% charge, which they attempt to get by walking up to said medic disguised as them. Then there’s look of horror on their face when it’s full of Ubersaw.
I’d say a dumb engineer or dumb sniper is far more useful on a team than a dumb spy. Just my tuppence worth.
